The Royal Caribbean Resort is located 2 miles south of the center of San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye, Belize. See Map. Ambergris, a small island off the East coast of mainland Belize, runs parallel to the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere. The island is separated from Mexico only by a narrow river, Bacalar Chica, dug by the Mayans almost 2000 years ago. Ambergris is the largest of the country's many Cayes (pronounced keys). See Map.

The tiny country of Belize is situated in the Western Caribbean, South of Mexico and East of Guatemala. Year round tropical temperatures average 80 deg.F. See Map. The Belize coast stretches for 150 miles along the Caribbean Sea. Its lagoon behind the reef is studded with Cayes (small islands) many of which are inhabited. On the mainland there are mountains, rivers, rainforest and Animal Preserves. There are many ancient Mayan sites, with pyramids and other structures to be explored.

Belize is 8,867 sq. miles, about the size of Delaware. See Map. Its population is around 250,000. Unqiue to Central America, its official language is English. US Dollar currency is accepted and ATMs are available. Major credit cards are accepted at most businesses.

Direct flights are available daily from Houston, Texas; Miami, Florida. Major airlines connect from all over Europe, Canada and the United States. Belize Airport Code is BZE.

After arriving at the Belize International Airport, the island is accessible by a short flight or a fast boat. Your reservation will include your preference. When you reach the island many taxis are available.

A passport is required for US, Canadian and European Community visitors. Citizens of many countries are also required to obtain a visa. It is advisable to check with your travel agent for specific information.
